With less than a week until the NHL Trade Deadline, check out the latest trade-related reports and speculation from around the NHL beat. Air Max Thea Pas Cher Femme . And follow TSN.ca right through Deadline Day for all the updates. Waiting Last Minute As per Arthur Staple of Newsday, barring a cant refuse offer from anyone in the next few days, New York Islanders general manager Garth Snow will go as close to the 3pm et deadline on Wednesday as possible to entice better offers for both Thomas Vanek and Andrew MacDonald. He adds that as games go on through the weekend, the number of suitors for MacDonald could go up. Staple also writes that the Islanders have no intention of trading goaltender Evgeni Nabokov. High Asking Price Chris Botta of The New York Times adds that the Islanders are asking for a first-round pick for MacDonald. He adds that theres a lot of interest in MacDonald, but CSNNE.com adds that such a demand is too much for the Boston Bruins, who are reportedly looking for a blueliner. Interest In Stewart? According to Bruce Garrioch of The Ottawa Sun, the Senators have an interest in St. Louis Blues winger Chris Stewart. Garrioch adds that Stewart could be part of a deal with the New York Rangers if the Blues are interested in Ryan Callahan. Staying The Course Larry Brooks of The New York Post writes that Rangers general manager Glen Sather and his front office are devoting their attention to evaluating personnel who might become available in trades for Ryan Callahan and Dan Girardi, with no progress made toward signing them to contract extensions. No Ones Business As Rich Chere of The Star-Ledger writes, no one should expect New Jersey Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur to announce publicly that he wants to be traded. Brodeur explained to Chere that he wont even wont say so unless a deal actually happens - and he hasnt even discussed the situation with general manager Lou Lamoriello. "Oh, no. Its not going to be like that. I dont think so, anyway," Brodeur told the paper. "Its nobody elses business but mine as for the direction I want to go. "Its been tough because you go through ups and downs. The more questions Im asked, sometimes my answers change. Thats why in the last few weeks Ive been more quiet about it. Its on purpose, because I want to make sure my decision is an educated decision and there are no influences from the outside. Show up Thursday and youll know if Im on the plane to Detroit (where the Devils play Friday)." Chere also writes that Jaromir Jagr, who doesnt have a no-trade clause, hasnt spoken to Lamoriello about a trade option. "The one thing that is good about this team is we dont have much media coverage," Jagr told Chere. "Less media, less rumors and less trade rumors. I havent even heard any rumors. "Hey, Ive been traded twice during the season. From Dallas to Boston and to New York from Washington. Going to the Rangers from Washington, they told me they were trying to trade me so I was kind of expecting it. The last one, Dallas to Boston, I was surprised. For me its easier than somebody with a big family. I pack my stuff and go, if something happens. Or not go." No Change Of Heart Katie Carrera of The Washington Post reports that, to little surprise, Capitals forward Martin Erat is still looking to get out. Erat, back from representing the Czech Republic in the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, said Wednesday he still wants the Capitals to trade him but declined to elaborate further. Capitals GM George McPhee said earlier this week that he planned to approach Erat again but didnt expect him to change of mind. Air Max 90 Pas Cher Pour Homme . The 18th-seeded Bouchard, an Australian Open semifinalist earlier this year, showed fighting spirit in winning her 84-minute match with the 99th-ranked Larsson in the pairs first meeting. Sam Dower Jr. had 20 points and 13 rebounds, and Gonzaga held its ground during a second-half rally to beat BYU 75-64 Tuesday night for its 13th WCC championship.Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Virginia Commonwealth didnt deserve its at- large bid into the NCAA Tournament? Tell that to Georgetown. Brandon Rozzell scored 26 points, Joey Rodriguez had 17 and No. 11 seed VCU became the first two-time winner in this years NCAA Tournament, rolling to a 74-56 victory over Georgetown that has the Rams moving on to the third round. Making its first at-large appearance in the NCAAs since the 1983-84 season, VCU (25-11) advanced to face battle-tested Purdue, the No. 3 seed in the Southwest Region, on Sunday. "Were not done," said Rams head coach Shaka Smart. "Were going to enjoy this one tonight, and were going to shift our focus to Purdue. Were going to have to play just as well to win." Of course, the Rams had already won a game before toppling Georgetown on the United Center hardwood Friday night. Perhaps motivated by the hurlyburly surrounding their selection, they pulled away in the second half for a 59-46 victory over Southern California in a "First Four" game on Wednesday night. Momentum may have been their biggest advantage. Entering the game, the sixth-seeded Hoyas (21-11) hadnt played since getting bounced from the Big East Tournament by Connecticut nine days ago -- and they hadnt won a game in 27 days. One streak ended against VCU. Unfortunately for the Hoyas, the other one didnt. "Thats the nature of the beast," said Hoyas head coach John Thompson III. "Once you get to this time of year, every team is good. There are no bad teams in this tournament." Making its fifth appearance in the NCAAs in seven years under Thompson, Georgetown was led by 26 poinnts from Hollis Thompson and 10 from Austin Freeman. Nike Air Max 90 v Sp Tz Patch. Freeman, the teams leading scorer at more than 17 points per game, shot just 3-of-14 from the field in 32 minutes and missed all of his seven three-point attempts. "They played better than us," said Hoya Chris Wright, who was 3-for-13, "and they deserved to win." Georgetown never held a lead after Jason Clarks layup made it 19-18 with 8:17 remaining in the first half. Rozzell knocked down a three-pointer at the other end to spark a 9-0 run that gave VCU the lead for good. Rozzell was 6-of-10 from three-point range and the Rams were 12-of-25 as a team. VCU took a 35-24 lead into halftime, part of a 19-4 run that spanned the first and second half and gave the Rams a 21-point lead on a Rodriguez three 5:08 into the game. The Hoyas showed some life after that, coming back with a 6-0 run to get within 15 points. But they were never closer than 13 the rest of the game, while the Rams went ahead by as many as 25. Even Purdue head coach Matt Painter called VCU a "great team" during an on-air interview with a TNT reporter. Painter was courtside, scouting the game after his Boilermakers cruised to a 65-43 win over Saint Peters earlier in the night. "Were a confident group," said Rodriguez. "Our seniors dont want it to end. Were best friends, and we just want to keep it going." Game Notes VCU and Georgetown have met just once previously, with the Rams earning a victory in 1978...The Hoyas finished the season on a five-game losing streak...Georgetowns record in the NCAAs fell to 45-25...VCU improved to 7-9 in the tournament.
