New Orleans Saints vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers:
Bold Predictions It’s a pretty common occurrence for fans and analysts to make bold predictions about a game or season. If the prediction doesn’t come true Max Unger Jersey , then that’s OK - you said it was bold! If it DOES come true, though... now you look like a genius! So in that spirit, some of the Canal Street Chronicles writers were asked to share with me a bold prediction or two for the Week 1 of the regular season for the New Orleans Saints: the divisional match-up at home against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This is their chance to look brilliant! Here are a few of the bold predictions provided by some of the contributors at Canal Street Chronicles:Photo by Jonathan Bachman/Getty ImagesThat’s Good - New Orleans Saints defense pitches a shutout to the Bucs offense. (Ellias)But That’s Not - ...But Drew Brees throws a pick-six in the game. (Ellias)Little Man, Big Play - Tommylee Lewis returns the opening kickoff for a score. (Chris)No Sophomore Slump Yet- Alvin Kamara has over 100 yards rushing and 100 yards receiving in the game. (Hendrix) But Who? - A running back not named “Kamara” finishes with two rushing touchdowns for the Saints. (Chris)In a blowout... - Taysom Hill sees time at QB for the Saints. (Chad)VERY bold - Teddy Bridgewater plays at least one offensive snap at QB for the Saints. (Ben)Here are my three bold predictions for the game:Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY SportsDrew Brees throws for 3 TDs and 0 interceptions.Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara combine for more total yards of offense than the entire Buccaneers team. The Saints successfully convert a 2-point conversion. So there are some of our bold predictions for the game. What are yours?Saints release cornerback De'vante Harris The New Orleans Saints have released defensive back De'Vante Harris. The news was first reported by Nick Underhill of The Advocate, and supported by multiple sources.Check out @nick_underhill’s Tweet: https://twitter.com/nick_underhill/statu...s=09Harris madethe Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2016 out of Texas A&M. He appeared in 10 games in his rookie season Cheap Cameron Jordan Jersey , starting one, and was credited with one pass breakup and a fumble recovery. Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY SportsHarris emerged from the 2017 preseason as one of the starters at cornerback entering the regular season. After New Orleans surrendered a combined 793 yards passing and six touchdowns in their first two games, Harris was benched and subsequently released. Although the team would re-sign him, it was mostly for special teams duty. The 25-yr. old Harris would ultimately appear in 11 games last season, mostly on special teams http://www.saintscheapshops.com/cheap-au...vis-jersey , and was credited with 2 passes defensed. He was brought back this offseason to compete for a spot in a young and talented New Orleans defensive backfield. He logged 11 snaps in the Saints preseason opening victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, per John Hendrix of the Canal Street Chronicles. Harris' struggles in coverage continued, however, and was flagged for two holding penalties that kept Jacksonville drives alive. https://www.canalstreetchronicles.com/20...tonHarris' release further opens up possibilities for the other young cornerbacks in Saints camp. The top three spots seem set, with Marshon Lattimore http://www.saintscheapshops.com/cheap-au...son-jersey , Ken Crawley, and Patrick Robinson, but 2-3 remaining spots are up for grabs among P.J. Williams, Arthur Maulet, Natrell Jamerson Thomas Morstead Jersey , Justin Hardee, and Linden Stephens. Williams and Maulet look to have the early advantage with outstanding play early in camp and strong moments in the win over the Jaguars.
